How to reach: To reach the tidal bench marks from the intersection of State Highway 6 and Farm Road 2004 in Hitchcock, go southwesterly on F.M. Road 2004 for about 24.1 km (15.0 mi) to Chocolate Bayou. From this point by boat travel southeasterly along Chocolate Bayou Channel for approximately 9.7 km (6.0 mi) to spoil island on the westerly side of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway Channel. This island has three structures on it and two functional wooden piers. The Tide Station and Staff are fastened to a triangular galvanized steel structure by the wooden pier to Permitted Cabin #1104.
